Galapagos Adventure Reflections #2

John J King II

The landscapes and wildlife in the Galapagos are amazingly unique yet even the accessible written guides don't prepare you for the natural beauty and the unusual nature of the endemics you encounter in a landscape that at first observation reminds one of the Hawaiian Islands. As a tropical way point near the Pacific equator, the islands are an important destination for a variety of seabirds who only visit the islands at certain times of year to mate and rear their young. We were fortunate to witness this part of the life cycle for a few species.
